Starting at the middle of January and lasting three months, " Les Mardis de Grand Case" - or Harmony Nights in English - have become a vibrant party and meeting event for locals and visitors alike. In the little town of Grand Case on the French side, cars are banished from the main street from 6.00 to 10.00pm. every Tuesday night. Soon, when the sun sets over the beautiful bay and people join local bars and elegant restaurantsfor aperitif and dinner, artists and craftsmen exhibit their creations on the street. Boutiques open late and shine in the brightest colors. Music bands walk the street up and down, followed by a dense crowd of people enjoying the festivities. Favorite meeting point are the "lolos", those charming Caribbean style open air restaurants: There you can taste, for a very reasonable price, local specialties and everything that can be barbecued, from ribs to lobster.
