Baie Rouge is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of St. Martin. Located in a quite spot of the French Lowlands, it invites to spend a whole day enjoying sand, sun and sea.
But what would a great beach be without a restaurant and bar? For 23 years, Raymond has been running his restaurant Chez Raymond in Baie Rouge, to the great satisfaction of local and visiting beach lovers. |
The beaches offers beach chairs and umbrellas just in front of the restaurant. After a morning baking in the sun, Chez Raymond is a wonderful place to relax in the shade of its terrace, watching the sea view with Anguilla at the horizon. And then, it's time to enjoy an authentic Creole lunch, as only true Islanders can do it! |
First order a nice drink at the bar, where you'll find every drink you can dream of. A nicely chilled, delicious French bottle of Chardonnay is perfect for the circumstances and you will be surprised by its excellent price.
Chez Raymond offers good food for small monies, something great when you spend the day on the beach with hungry children.

Fish, seafood and lobster are among the stars of the menu, which also offers daily specials. But the barbecued meat is as delicious, for instance the mixed lamb and beef kebab. Lobster can be enjoyed grilled or as a refreshing salad. Salads are by the way numerous on the menu, something appreciated by visitors who still want to enjoy the afternoon without the feeling of having overeaten. And for dessert, try the fruit plate: All fruits are absolutely fresh, an authentic tropical delight! |
After lunch, it's time to go back to the beach, to enjoy a last swim, or simply to read in the shade of Raymond's terrace. Until comes... HAPPY HOUR: |
Happy Hour is when Raymond blows the conch shell, and lasts from 3 p.m to 4 p.m. Time to try the wonderful Caribbean cocktails, made with real fresh tropical fruit and typical island drinks.
And this is not the end of the day at Chez Raymond: Soon you will have a chance to marvel at our famous Caribbean sunset, between 5.45 p.m. and 6.45 p.m., depending on the season. Another opportunity for a last drink at Raymond's bar, which opens at 9 a.m. and closes after sunset, or so when the last sun lovers have gone home... And you may have a dance at the sound of local life music.
Enjoy an unforgettable beach day in Baie Rouge, at Chez Raymond!

When visiting Marigot, you can have breakfast and lunch at the restaurant Lowtown in St. James, on the Sea Front of Marigot. This is another of Raymond's place, which opens at 5.30 a.m. for breakfast and serves Creole food and grill at noon. |
